Castellaro Lagusello is a country village with defense walls, it was built in the XII century and
was first under the protection of Bishop of Verona (1145) and
Common of Verona (1184), later under Scaligeri’s County and
Serenissima Venice’s Republic (in the 1441).
In a
sorrounding wall’s loop, on the lake side, was situated the Guard
Captain’s House, the biggest building in the village. In 1637 the
Venice’s Repubblic sold this no more used fortress. This area was
bought by Arrighi Family, who changed it into a mansion.
The transformation was made mostly in the 18th and 19th century. The
garden was realized in 1880 and includes a beautiful Taxodium (yew),
two remarkable Deodara Cedars and a big Magnolia Latifoglia.
The part of the building facing on the small square belong to the 18th
century and includes the Fisherman’s house, a Tower and a Chapel (built
in 1727)
